All new MICCL employees and contractors are to be given environmental awareness
training as part of the induction process by Induction Training Officers, and the
Environmental Section for existing employees. As a minimum, the MICCL environmental
training will provide:
- a general level of environmental awareness;
- an overview of the Environmental Management System (EMS); and
- an understanding of the business benefits arising from understanding and conforming
to MICCL's Environmental Policy and requirements of the EMS.
The purpose of this procedure is to provide guidelines for environmental training
of relevant MICCL employees and to ensure:
- MICCL personnel have the specific skills, knowledge and competency levels in their
roles to achieve the goals of the Environmental Policy; and
- that appropriate training is provided where gaps in skills, knowledge and/or competency
is identified
